of its 3 new and exciting models, the all-new Mitsubishi
Outlander, Mitsubishi Endeavor and Mitsubishi Pajero. These
3 new SUVs will definitely thrill the market considering
its advanced features and exceptional styling.
Mitsubishi
Pajero 4x4 3.8 V6 MIVEC and 3.2 D-ID Common Rail
Every
SUV fanatic knows the heritage behind the 7 consecutive
and 12 overall winner of the Dakar Rally. Every useful technology
from the race is derived and applied into the production
model. With the 4th generation Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4, Mitsubishi
Motors is very confident to please the most scrutinizing
customer.
The
new Pajero sports a bolder but cleaner look that exudes
class. Starting at the front, a new chrome radiator grille
and bumper presents aggressiveness while the High Intensity
Discharge headlamps provide better luminance during the
night. The hood is not made of sheet metal but of aluminum
helping save weight thus returning better fuel economy.
The side mirror with defogger also functions as a turn signal
indicator and as an approach lamp as courtesy to passengers
boarding the vehicle. A new 6-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels
shod with 265/65 R17 tires complements its muscular body.
At the rear, the Pajero gets also a refreshed treatment
with a new spare tire carrier design with integrated rear
fog lamp.
Inside,
a new all-black dashboard accentuated by wood and silver
paneling spans the width of the Pajero. The new dashboard
houses the high-visibility, high contrast meter cluster,
Multi-Information display that can tell the time, date,
elevation, temperature readings, compass, average speed,
fuel consumption among others. Also integrated on the new
dashboard are the controls and display for the fully automatic
climate control and the single in-dash CD/MP3 tuner with
Digital Sound Processor and equalizer. The Pajero’s
leather-wrapped 4-spoke steering wheels has integrated audio
remote and cruise control switches. For convenience, the
new Pajero is equipped with illuminated vanity mirrors,
illuminated key cylinder, LED ceiling mood lamp, and front
foot lamps. The seats are large and wide to easily accommodate
7 adults but can also be configured in a number of ways
to fit extremely large and long cargo thanks to the stowable
third row seat and fold and tumble second row seats.
Safety
features of the new Pajero are top of its class. Major features
are the Mitsubishi Active Skid and Traction Control (M-ASTC)
which controls engine power and brakes to prevent understeer
or oversteer and its ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
acting on the 4-pot front disc brakes and rear disc brakes.
The monocoque body frame has been developed under the Reinforced
Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body frame technology helping
the occupants withstand various kinds of collisions. The
new Pajero is much safer than its predecessor and its competitors
with the addition of side and curtain airbags. Also the
Pajero has an electro chromic rear view mirror that automatically
dims the mirror to prevent glare from the headlamps of ensuing
vehicles.
The new Pajero is now available with two more powerful engine
options namely the 3.8 liter 6G75 V6 24-valve MIVEC gasoline
engine and the Turbocharged and Intercooled 3.2 liter 4M41
16-valve Direct Injection Diesel Common Rail engine. The
gasoline variant churns out 250 PS @ 6,000 rpm and 22.6
kg-m @ 2750 rpm thanks to the MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative
Valve Timing Electronic Control) technology, while the diesel
version that is fitted with a new Common Rail Injection
system produces 165 PS @ 3,500 rpm and 38.1 kg-m @ 2,000
rpm. Both engines transfer power through a 5-speed INVECS-II
with Sportronic plus it is mated to a high tech four wheel
drive system called the Super Select II. The Super Select
II system allows the driver to shift from 2 wheel drive
to 4 wheel drive and vice versa even without stopping. A
refined version of the 4-wheel independent suspension is
adopted from the previous model to provide excellent roadholding
capability and ride comfort.
The
new Pajero which is completely imported from Japan, measures
4900mm x 1875mm x 1870mm (LxWxH) and it is available in
the following colors: Rio Grande White, Congo Silver, Riviera
Green, Amazon Red, and Mongolia Black. The Suggested Retail
Price (SRP) for the 3.8 V6 MIVEC is P2,588,000 and P2,688,000
for the 3.2 D-ID Common Rail Diesel. Vehicle warranty is
3-years or 100,000 kilometers whichever comes first.
Mitsubishi Endeavor LE 3.8 V6
Basing it on the platform of the 4th generation
Eclipse and the 9th Generation Galant 240M, the Endeavor
was developed to satisfy the needs of the discerning American
mid-sized SUV market. The Endeavor boasts of a comfortable,
quiet ride with a good balance of exhilarating performance
and good fuel economy. As it is derived from its ultra performance
car base, it can deliver superb handling and straight line
stability and maneuverability.
From the outside, the Endeavor exhibits
muscles though its wide stance, bulging fender lines and
large 7-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels. The geo-mechanical styling
of the Endeavor creates visual representation of speed,
motion, and power. Large headlamps and powerful foglamps,
which are incidentally of the daytime running type, illuminate
your path at night. Roof rails are also standard for that
more macho SUV feel while rear privacy glass are provided
for your added security. At the rear the glass hatch also
opens separately from the tailgate via an electronic release
mechanism for your convenience.
The interior of the Endeavor hints also
of solid engineering. The dashboard looks so well built
and nicely laid-out. Audio buffs would be pleased to fiddle
with the 650-watt Rockford Fosgate 6 in-dash CD/MP3 tuner
with 9 speakers (including a subwoofer). Climate control
with rear passenger vents is fully automatic while important
and relevant information are displayed on the multi-information
monitor. Other convenience features found inside are an
8-way power adjustable driver seat, keyless entry with alarm,
front 12V accessory sockets, rear armrest with cupholders,
and a tonneau cover. The occupants are well protected by
the rigid monocoque body construction and side, curtain
and front dual stage SRS airbags.
A 3.8 liter V6 with 24-valves moves the
Endeavor with ease as it produces 228 PS @ 5,000 rpm and
35 kg-m @ 3,750 rpm. The front wheels are driven by a 4-speed
INVECS-II automatic with Sportronic shifter and is aided
by an electronic active skid and traction control system
to prevent excessive wheelspin, understeer, or oversteer.
The Endeavor also possesses 4-wheel independent suspension
and 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD.

States and is available in Appalachian Black, Liquid Silver
Metallic, Satin Grey Pearl, Phoenix Red, Platinum Beige,

Mitsubishi Outlander GLS and GLS

The all-new second generation Mitsubishi
Outlander out does just about everything. From the exterior
looks, the all-new Outlander is a standout from the rest
of the competition. Total redesign aimed the SUV further
upscale thanks to an increase in size, a host of new features
and a complete makeover inside and out. Notably, the Outlander
gained 4 inches of length and adding 13 cubic feet of cargo
space.
The exterior styling shows the new aggressive
direction of Mitsubishi Motors. Starting at the front, the
all-new Outlander is fitted with auto-leveling High Intensity
Discharge headlamps that does not only look cool but provides
excellent visibility when driving at night. Front foglamps
fitted on the bumper together also aids in lighting up the
road. Fenders are bulged to accommodate the wide track and
the 5-spoke 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels with 225/55R18

antenna. Worthy of mentioning is that the roof panel is
made of aluminum to save precious weight and reduce body
roll. At the rear the most unique feature of the all-new
Outlander is its two piece flap-type tailgate that makes
loading cargo easier. The LED tail lamps and LED 3rd brake
lamps mounted on the rear spoiler makes it more visible
than conventional bulb types while the dual tail pipe has
chrome finishers to enhance the appearance.
The atmosphere in the interior continues
to be sporty thanks to its dynamically shaped dashboard.
Both GLS and GLS sport share the following features: 3-spoke
leather wrapped steering wheel has silver accents and controls
for the audio system, multi-information display monitor,

Fosgate premium sound system (6 In-dash CD/MP3/Tuner with
9 speakers – including a rear 10-inch subwoofer),
magnesium alloy paddle shifters, auxiliary audio jack, and
a tonneau cover.
For performance, both Outlander variants
get their zing from an all-new all-aluminum 3.0 V6 called
the 6B31. This new engine has 24-valves and enhanced by
the MIVEC valve train system and it produces a class leading
223 PS @ 6,250 rpm and 28.25 kg-m @ 4,000 rpm. Transmission
type is a 6-speed INVECS-II with Sportronic and has a 3-mode
4-wheel drive system easily controllable by a knob found
on the center console.
For footwork, the all-new Outlander relies
on McPherson Struts up front and a heavy duty multi-link
rear suspension both having stabilizer bars. For safety,
the body frame has been developed using the Reinforced Impact
Safety Evolution technology to reassure collision safety.
Brakes are all discs and are equipped with Electronic Brakeforce
Distribution. Dual stage front SRS airbags are standard
and anti-trapping power windows are also equipped. What
sets apart the GLS Sport model from the GLS are the addition
