MMC President’s Message on January 21, 2026: Announcement of Executive Appointments
We sincerely appreciate your continued support and understanding of our business activities.
Today, we announced that effective April 1, I will assume the position of Representative Executive Officer, CEO, and that Keisuke Kishiura, currently serving as Corporate Officer, will be appointed Representative Executive Officer, President & COO. In addition, following the General Shareholders’ Meeting in June, I am scheduled to assume the role of Chairman of the Board.
The global automotive industry is undergoing profound transformation, including the rapid evolution and expansion of artificial intelligence and the accelerating shift toward software‑defined vehicles. At the same time, generational change is progressing among both customers and employees. To ensure that the company continues to make decisions with fresh perspectives, I determined that the presidency should be entrusted to a new generation of leadership.
Meanwhile, structural shifts in global affairs and industry dynamics require automakers – including our company – to define their long‑term strategic direction to remain competitive. Taking into consideration the views of our stakeholders, I have decided to remain in the role of CEO for the time being and to steer the company together with Kishiura-san and the executive leadership team.
Although challenging conditions are expected to persist in the coming years, we remain firmly committed to navigating this period of transition and advancing toward sustainable growth. We sincerely appreciate your continued support.
