Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Wins Prestigious Excellence in Ecology and Economy Award

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) celebrates another milestone with the Excellence in Ecology and Economy (E3) Award under the Environmental Stewardship – Large Enterprise category, highlighting its strong commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing, energy efficiency, and community-driven sustainability initiatives.

The award was presented by Vice President of the Philippines Sara Duterte and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) officials last October 20 at the 51st Philippine Business Conference & Expo (PBC&E) at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The prestigious E3 Awards, organized by PCCI, honors companies that successfully integrate innovative environmental programs, demonstrating the powerful link between sustainability and profitability.The recognition highlights MMPC’s deep commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable operations, proving that businesses can achieve growth while upholding genuine environmental responsibility.

MMPC’s award-winning sustainability strategy integrates programs on energy efficiency, emission reduction, water and waste management, resource optimization, and social responsibility aimed at uplifting communities and promoting shared value. Their success is driven by team effort, powered by dedicated employees and strict adherence to all environmental standards.

Driven by its commitment to a cleaner future, MMPC now runs 100% on renewable energy. Twenty percent is generated from its 4.2MW Solar PV system, while the remaining share is procured solely from renewable sources—propelling the company closer to its carbon neutrality goals.

Other key initiatives include a 100-hectare reforestation project, achieving plastic packaging neutrality for all sold vehicles, and implementing smart innovations such as redesigning the oven to consume less fuel (LPG) and introducing a waste heat recovery system to significantly reduce consumption and eliminate boiler dependency.

MMPC’s efforts are in line with the calls of the Philippine government’s Climate Change Commission in February for public and private sectors in the country to work together and invest in renewable energy, climate-resilient infrastructure, and green technologies to help reduce emissions, drive economic growth, and generate more jobs.
