Safety Inspection Campaign for Mitsubishi Xpander and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross Motor Vehicles

As part of its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and customer safety, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), through its authorized dealerships, will be conducting a proactive safety inspection campaign involving 3,853 affected 2020 to 2025 Mitsubishi Xpander and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross motor vehicles (the “Concerned Vehicles”).

MMPC has identified a potential issue affecting certain reclining ratchet components with Lot Nos. [RR1N40109PP0600-RR1N40111PP0424] (the “Affected Components”) installed at the second-row seats of the Concerned Vehicles (see attached images for reference), which may affect the seat adjustment or reclining function under certain conditions.

As a preventive and quality assurance measure, MMPC, through its authorized dealerships, will inspect the Concerned Vehicles, and if necessary, replace the entire second-row seat frame free of charge.

No incidents related to this condition have been reported in the Philippines. Please note that not all Concerned Vehicles will require replacement, as MMPC, through its authorized dealerships, shall inspect and determine if the Affected Components are installed in the Concerned Vehicles.

Owners of the Concerned Vehicles will be notified by MMPC through its authorized dealerships. Additionally, a list of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) of the Concerned Vehicles will be posted on MMPC’s website to let the respective vehicle owners verify in advance without waiting for the official notification from authorized dealerships. Once ownership of the Concerned Vehicle is confirmed, the vehicle owner may contact their nearest authorized dealership to schedule a safety inspection. To minimize inconvenience, customers are encouraged to have the safety inspection conducted during their next scheduled Periodic Maintenance Service (PMS). The safety inspection will only take approximately twenty (20) minutes. However, for the Concerned Vehicles that are determined and confirmed to have the Affected Components, the respective dealerships may need to schedule another date once the replacement part of the second-row seat frame is available.

MMPC sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the continued trust and support of its customers. MMPC remains committed to taking all appropriate measures to ensure the safety, quality and reliability of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles.
